I’d love to say that I’m a life long photographer. The truth is that I spent too many years thinking about it and not doing it.
And so, in 2010 a friend who was returning to Brazil sold me her DSLR. Equipped with what I considered a modern camera, I set about finally trying to learn how to make photographs.

My photography has now become a marriage of analogue and digital both with cameras and processing. Film negatives are scanned into a digital domain. They are post processed with software and shared electronically. For me, this hybrid photography is a perfect mix of my own past and future.

There are cases of persons who in their whole lives have never had a dream, while others dream when considerably advanced in years, having never dreamed before. The cause of their not having dreams appears somewhat like that which operates in the case of infants, and that which operates immediately after meals.

Stickup is a code-based generative lyrics video I directed and programmed for the track Stickup by Karma Fields & MORTEN featuring Juliette Lewis. The entire lyrics video consists of multiple stages that are programmed and generated using Processing.

The system for generating the visuals is partially derived from the one previously used in Build the Cities. Lyrics are parsed, making each layer of quadtree structure subdivide itself to a corresponding pattern.

I wonder, then, how the Athenians can have been persuaded that Socrates was a freethinker, when he never said or did anything contrary to sound religion, and his utterances about the gods and his behaviour towards them were the words and actions of a man who is truly religious and deserves to be thought so.
