Font Setimo (2015) by Fernando Caro, Dalton Maag.
A strong personality does not have to be loud. Setimo’s strength lies in its distinguished and authoritative tone. It is akin to a tailor-made suit, rich with attention to detail, perfectly fitting, and exuding confidence for any occasion. Setimo carries and enriches surrounding design elements with ease, and allows the reader to effortlessly absorb the message.
Setimo’s design features and strength provide a solid base for the creation of wordmarks and logotypes. A minor alteration to the letterforms of Setimo can personalize it and give ownership to a brand that wants to stand out without being loud or abrasive.
Setimo is a typeface that knows its worth.
Dot is the beat making part of the Augsburg based Hiphop-Duo «Blindspot» and the kind of guy to bang out an instrumental hiphop album on vinyl in 2014, which was considered pretty ballsy in times of hologram live shows of rap legends.
But the first personal hello to the world, the solo full length «Alice» wasn‘t a shy «hello», more like «oh hi guys, mind if I show y’all how it can be done?».
A keen smack in the faces of those that didn’t believe in this kind of music anymore, engrossing the listeners whole attention.

Content precedes design. Design in the absence of content is not design, it’s decoration.

Perhaps the two hardest things for an artist to do are judiciously use a “burn pile” for the portfolio and to articulate a point of view. It has taken me many years to know my point of view.
When I photograph or do a piece of digital art my intent is to evoke in the viewer a sense of a detail or tone in the image that triggers an emotive response in the viewer.
I try and isolate texture or geometry or interplay of light or combination of these elements to achieve my point of view. My artistic point of view is “Perception of Place”.

Signs imply ways of living, possibilities of existence, they are the symptoms of an overflowing (jaillissante) or exhausted (épuisée) life. But an artist cannot be content with an exhausted life, nor with a personal life. One does not write with one’s ego, one’s memory, and one’s illnesses.
In the act of writing there’s an attempt to make life something more personal, to liberate life from what imprisons it…
There is a profound link between signs, the event, life, and vitalism. It is the power of nonorganic life, that which can be found in a line of a drawing, a line of writing, a line of music.
It is organisms that die, not life. There is no work of art that does not indicate an opening for life, a path between the cracks. Everything I have written has been vitalistic, at least I hope so, and constitutes a theory of signs and the event.
